With decades of experience working on campaigns, strategic engagement, and advocacy work at the local, state and federal level, we understand the inner workings and can advise our clients to overcome roadblocks and advance their goals.  We advocate on behalf of a diverse group of clients across a varied array of public policy issues and business strategy.  From analyzing policy to guiding our clients in public and private sector engagement, our team utilizes our broad experience to navigate the complex political landscape and achieve success.  Many of our clients have been with us for a decade or more.

Kristen Gullott

 

Founder and President of Dogwood Strategies, LLC, Kristen Gullott has more than 20 years of experience as a strategic consultant to corporations, non-profits, campaigns and trade associations.  Ms. Gullott brings a wealth of experience in national politics, state and federal advocacy, strategic engagement, advocacy campaigns, and strategic plan development.  Her experience, relationships, and approach have earned her the trust and respect of those for whom she has worked that have made her an invaluable asset to clients.  

 

Before founding Dogwood Strategies in 2012, she was a director at a large law firm, where she managed a state and federal government public policy and advocacy practice that included Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and business services companies.  Previously, Ms. Gullott was a political appointee at the United States Department of Energy where she served as a senior policy advisor in the Office of Fossil Energy.  Additionally, she worked as director of special events for the Republican National Committee, acting as the primary liaison between the White House and the RNC. She began her career at Rove + Company and went on to work for President George W. Bush’s 2000 Exploratory Committee and the 2000 presidential campaign and recount where she served as senior staff to the Hon. Karl C. Rove, Senior Advisor to the President and Deputy White House Chief of Staff.

 

Beyond her professional commitments, Gullott has served on the boards of various community organizations and has been active volunteer at her children’s schools and sports teams.  A firm believer that her success is a result of building strong relationships, she is dedicated to mentoring the next generation, particularly young women, as they begin their careers in public policy.

 

Originally from Flower Mound, Texas, Kristen is a proud graduate of Boston University.  She and her husband now reside in Alexandria, Virginia with their two children.
